Mother's Day May 10, 2015

Our lives are compared to a tapestry:
The first thread, of course, is always our Heavenly Father, God.  He knew us before we were born, while we were yet being formed in our mother's womb. Where we were before this time is a mystery to me.
The second section of threads are our parents, with our mother being of vital importance, since she carried us for the first nine months; or so, of our lives.  A child is usually totally dependent on his/her mother for nurture and substance.  God in His great wisdom has provided the wee-helpless children with mothers to care for  them as the babies He has provided as a GIFT to parents, at least that is what He has intended them to be.
Whether we desire to or not, our lives are like a constant replay of our growing-up days...how we were treated as children, whether we felt loved or not, and the way we were taught to handle life as we grew older.
Although my mother is no longer with us, her teachings and rearing are a part of me and will always be.  A good mother's worth is more precious than gold or any other mineral that exists.  I constantly miss her and always will. I wish she would still be alive.  I know that all of us can recall our mothers and what they meant to us whether we want to or not.
This Mother's Day we will honor our mother...a precious gift from God to show us how to meet the challenges of life.

Saturday the 9th of May will be our monthly Aglow meeting at Aloma U. Methodist Church at the corner of Routes 426 and 436 in Winter Park, FL.  We will start at 9:30 a.m.  All are invited to attend. There is no registration or cost. A free-will offering will be taken.  We will meet in Room 24. Signs will guide you to the area where we will be attending. A blessing gift will be given after a drawing for those in attendance before 9:45 a.m.  There is always coffee and refreshments.  We collect nonperishable foods for the needy at all of our meetings.
All are invited including Men and Teens. No membership is required.
Our speaker this month is a wonderful blind minister who has written many books.  She travels, and does not let blindness hinder her in sharing the Gospel Message.  We could all do with some of her wonderful courage.
